We're introducing Brainboard, an AI-powered canvas that brings your ideas, research, and team together—in one place—helping you think more clearly, plan more effectively, and build faster than ever before.
Visual thinking is already one of the most common ways teams work through complex problems. Across organizations, people sketch diagrams on whiteboards, map ideas across sticky notes, and piece together insights scattered across dozens of documents and tools. Brainboard builds on this natural way of working by bringing AI directly onto the canvas—so your visual workspace becomes not just a place to organize, but a partner that helps you synthesize, connect, and create.
You can import documents, record sessions, search the web, and generate diagrams using natural language—all without leaving your canvas. Everything stays connected, so insights from one source can inform another, and your team can see the full picture in one unified view.
The challenge: scattered thinking in a fragmented world
Modern knowledge work generates an overwhelming amount of information. Interview transcripts sit in one tool, project plans in another, research notes scattered across documents, and insights trapped in individual minds. Teams spend countless hours trying to piece together the full picture—switching between apps, copying and pasting, and losing context along the way.
"I spend the first hour of every synthesis session just gathering materials. By the time I've pulled everything together, I've lost the thread of what I was trying to figure out."— Product Manager
We built Brainboard to solve this. It's a single canvas where your ideas, data, and AI work together—helping you see connections you'd otherwise miss and move from insight to action in minutes, not days.
Designed for how teams actually think
Brainboard was designed in close collaboration with researchers, product teams, consultants, and engineers—people who spend their days making sense of complex information and communicating it clearly to others.
We heard consistently that existing tools force a choice: either use a simple whiteboard that can't handle real data, or use a powerful document tool that can't think visually. Brainboard bridges this gap.
When you drop a PDF onto the canvas, Brainboard doesn't just display it—it extracts the document structure, identifies key points, converts tables to editable formats, and suggests how to visualize the content. When you record a brainstorming session, it transcribes the conversation, identifies action items, and surfaces the key decisions automatically.
The goal isn't to replace human thinking—it's to remove the friction that gets in the way of it.
AI that understands your canvas
Unlike generic AI assistants, Brainboard's AI understands the context of everything on your board. When you ask a question, it doesn't just search the internet—it searches your canvas, your connected documents, and your session recordings.
Ask "What are the main risks in this project?" and Brainboard will analyze your timeline, your architecture diagram, and your team allocation cards to give you an answer grounded in your actual work—with citations pointing to specific elements so you know exactly where every insight comes from.
This context-awareness extends to natural language commands. Select a set of cards and say "arrange these in a timeline" or "connect these with arrows and make the first one green." Brainboard understands 22 different command types, from simple formatting to complex multi-step operations.
Transform any document into visual knowledge
Brainboard speaks the language of documents. Upload a PDF up to 50MB and watch it transform:
- •Document structure is extracted automatically, preserving headings, sections, and hierarchy
- •Tables are converted to editable Brainboard tables you can manipulate directly
- •Key points are identified by AI and surfaced for quick review
- •Visualization suggestions recommend the best way to represent the content—whether that's a timeline, a mind map, or a structured diagram
The same intelligence applies to URLs. Drop a link and pull the main content directly onto your canvas, automatically cleaned and structured.
Generate professional diagrams with words
Describe what you need, and Brainboard creates it. No manual dragging, no alignment headaches, no hunting through shape libraries.
Brainboard generates a complete diagram: start nodes, decision diamonds, process blocks, and end states—all connected with properly routed arrows, color-coded by path type. The result is professionally styled and immediately useful.
Brainboard supports over 15 diagram types, including flowcharts, mind maps, org charts, timelines, system architecture diagrams, and user journey maps. Each diagram type understands the conventions of its domain and generates appropriate structure automatically.
For technical teams, we've included a library of 100+ ready-to-use components—AWS architecture elements, UI components, and system design blocks. Start from professionally designed pieces instead of starting from scratch.
Capture every session, surface every insight
Knowledge work happens in conversations. The best ideas emerge in brainstorming sessions, planning meetings, and informal discussions—and too often, they're lost as soon as the meeting ends.
Brainboard's session recording changes this. Record any collaborative session, and the system automatically:
- •Transcribes the conversation with speaker identification and timestamps
- •Extracts key points from the discussion
- •Identifies action items with assignees and due dates
- •Creates a searchable record that connects to everything else on your canvas
But the real power comes from multi-session analysis. Ask "What decisions have we made about the mobile app across all meetings?" or "Show me all action items assigned to Sarah this month" and get consolidated answers from your entire meeting history.
Patterns emerge. You'll notice that the same blocker keeps coming up, or that a decision made three weeks ago contradicts something discussed yesterday. Brainboard helps you see across time, not just across space.
Audio that travels
Sometimes the people who need to understand your work can't sit down with a complex visual board. Brainboard's audio generation transforms your canvas into professional audio summaries that anyone can consume.
Choose from three styles:
- Summary (2-3 minutes):A concise overview with key points and takeaways
- Podcast (5-7 minutes):A two-host conversation format that makes complex topics accessible
- Deep Dive (8-10 minutes):In-depth analysis with detailed exploration
The podcast format is particularly powerful for sharing research findings or strategic plans with stakeholders who are short on time but need to understand the nuances. Two distinct AI voices create a natural conversation that engages listeners and surfaces the most important insights.
Research without leaving your canvas
When you need information from outside your organization, Brainboard brings the web's knowledge directly to you. Multiple search providers ensure you get comprehensive, relevant results. Search for "React 19 features" and Brainboard creates structured cards on your canvas with article titles, key summaries, source links, and automatic categorization. The information is immediately visual, immediately connected to your other work, and immediately useful.
Privacy and security at the core
Your thinking is sensitive. Strategic plans, research insights, competitive analysis—this is information that matters, and we've built Brainboard with privacy as a foundational principle.
Workspace isolation ensures your data stays within your workspace. Role-based access gives you granular control over who can view, edit, or share. All content is encrypted at rest and in transit.
Most importantly: your boards are never used to train AI models. Your intellectual work remains yours.
For session recordings, you have complete control. You decide what gets recorded, who can access recordings, and how long they're retained.

What's next
This is just the beginning. We're actively developing deeper integrations with tools like Slack, Notion, Linear, Posthog, Mixpanel and more. We're building advanced AI capabilities for multi-board analysis and cross-project insights. Enhanced collaboration features including video presence and live annotations are on the roadmap.
We built Brainboard because we believe the best thinking happens when humans and AI work together—when technology amplifies creativity rather than replacing it. The goal has always been to remove the friction between having an idea and making it real.
We can't wait to see what you build.
Brainboard is available now for all Codiris users.
